Punta Cana is considered the major resort area in the Dominican Republic with many luxury hotels and 70 km of beautiful beaches. There are several professional golf courses in the region.
 The beach is the main attraction in Punta Cana. You can freely stroll the beach strip going from one hotel's beach front to another, especially in the Cortecito, Bavaro and Cabeza de Toro areas. There are public beach entries at El Cortecito and Cabeza de Toro. Macao, to the north, is now beginning to be developed, and thus still is open to the general public.  |
