SANTO DOMINGO CITY TOUR
Discover the oldest city in the New World, founded by the conquistadors in 1496.

See many of the "firsts" of the New World, including the first palace, El Alcazar, home of Christopher Columbus' son Diego, and headquarters of the Spanish conquistadors for over 60 years.

The first Cathedral in the new World, Museum of Las Casas Reales, the first city hall, the first monastery and walk way by the Ozama Fortress. Close by is the Atarazana, a lovely, Picturesque street, one of the first in the city, which now houses gift shops, boutiques and art galleries.

Leaving the colonial city you will come upon the National Palace , the Cultural Plaza where you will find our National Theatre, the Gallery of Modern Art and the Museum of Dominican Man.

The tour continues through modern residential areas to the Olympic Center, our sports complex. Then on through the Mirador, a seven mile park with a panoramic view of the city and coastline.

Also during the tour we will pass by the Columbus Lighthouse, the giant monument where the remains of Christopher Columbus are resting.

When time permits we stop at Los tres Ojos, a natural fresh water spring, set like crystal jewels in an underground fern-covered cave. As another option we might also visit the national aquarium.

Return to the hotel at sunset.

SAONA ISLAND

Departing from your hotel, you will arrive at Bayahibe, a typical fisher man's village, where you will leave by speed boat for Saona Island.

We will ride along the beautiful coastline of the East National Park, crossing over to Saona Island. White sandy beaches, coconut trees, rustic wooden houses surrounded by crystal waters of different shades of blue. The first stop is at Las Piscinas, certainly one of the most beautiful places you will ever see. The first drink of the day is served here. Further into the National Park, we will visit a lagoon formed by countless mangrove inlets, and you will se bird wildlife in its natural habitat, all of this before arriving at Saona.

Lunch buffet is served on the beach at 1:00 O'clock.

On the return journey, we board a larger party boat where we have entertainment as well as refreshments.

Return to Bayahibe and hotel around sunset.

This excursion is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy pristine, beautiful scenery and secluded beaches.

Excursions from the North Coast (POP)


PLAYA GRANDE
A wonderful day with sun and swimming at the best beach on the north coast.

We go by boat from Rio San Juan and the Gri-Gri lagoon, through the mangroves out to the ocean. Here we pass by a cave.

After a trip at a fruit plantation it's time to go to the beach for some relaxing.

Here we swim in the clear water of the Atlantic Ocean and either you stay in the sun or prefer to relax under a palm tree you will receive a nice tan.

Here you can also try some typical Dominican specialties like the tropical fruit drinks.

Good to bring : clothes for swimming, sun cream and camera.



SAMANA
A full day tour to the beautiful Samana bay. Enjoy sun, swimming, beautiful nature and in the wintertime the big humpback whales.

The trip will take you trough the green countryside of the north coast.

Millions of coconut trees gave Samana its name; it means the Coconut land.

The way to Samana is exactly how we imagine the Caribbean.

After a short trip with boat we arrival to the paradise island, Cayo Levantado where the famous commercials for Bacardi rum was filmed once.

Here we will have a wonderful day together and we will enjoy the bright sand on the beach and the crystal clear water.

Here you can try snorkeling and other water activities.

We will have our lunch in the shadow with merengue music in the background.

The humpback whale comes to this bay to mate from the end of Dec. until Mar.

On the way to Samana you will learn a lot about the Dom. Rep. the connections to the States, education and social conducts.

PUERTO PLATA
A half day tour to the harbor town of Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata is the biggest town on the north cost. We are going to the old part of the town with colorful Victorian houses.

Here you will also have a chance to walk around on your own or maybe shop a bit.

We also visit the factory of the Dominican ¨gasoline¨ - the Brugal rum factory. Here you have the chance to taste the rum and also buy it to a good price.

The north cost in Spanish is Costa De Amber and the reason to this name is because here you find much amber. At the big Amber Museum we get to see very old insects that once was caught in the floating amber millions of years ago. It was from this place that Steven Spielberg got the idea to his movie-Jurassic Park.

The old fort from the colonial time is at the harbor of Puerto Platt and this was build to protect the city from the pirates. Here we make a stop to feel the long lost time.

On this tour you will learn a lot about culture, rum and things on the way.

MONSTERTRUCKS
We will go with 8 wheel trucks and these cars can take us to places that 4 wheel trucks only can dream about.

You will be picked up from your hotel in buses that will take you to the meeting point in Puerto Plata. There we will start the day by going into the countryside. We will go through villages, tropical rivers and sugar plantation.

During the day we make several stops and one of this are at a cheese factory. We also stop at a school to see how the education here is working.

After a visit to a typical Dominican family its time to have lunch. We stop at the river Yasica where we will have a typical Dominican buffet. After the lunch there is also some time for a swim in the river.

A very different excursion liked by all ages.

CAYO PARAISO

Have you ever been dreaming about the paradise, with crystal clear water and white beaches- Do you want to experience this!

Then you can't miss our excursion to Cayo Paraiso. We will travel through a countryside that goes from tropical green to a cactus forest where the sun is high on the sky. Listen to the guide that tells you about the rich plantations we will pass and about the flora and fauna of this country.

We will arrive to Punta Rusia and there we will get something cold to drink before we goes with speedboats out to the small Cay. Here you will find one of the best snorkel places on the north cost. Completely new worlds will bee there for you!

After some wonderful snorkeling we will bee served a wonderful Dominican buffet before we start our way home.

On the way home we will pass a national park where the endangered manatees are living.

HAITI
An exiting full day excursion to the unexplored country of Haiti

The contrast between these two countries is huge. The impression comes to you already at the border where the paved road stops. The bus slows down to about 25-km/per hour and in this slow speed we have plenty of time to enjoy the small villages that we pass. We will make a stop to visit a bakery and we also visits a family.

People here don't have so many things but everyone has food for the day. To have many women is common and for one man to have 15 children are also very common.

Paved roads are only present between the two major cities. Phones, electricity and newspapers are very rare, especially in the countryside.

Analphabetism is also very common, the lack of infrastructure and communication is holding this country .In this situation it's the voodoo priest that helps the people with their problems and questions.

During this excursion we also have the chance to see a voodoo show…

The feeling that we are in the middle of Africa comes to you very strongly when we visit a school and a local market.

The tourism in Haiti is not very big.

Experience the different country, far away from the international world!

SANTIAGO

Join us for a shopping day in the big city!

We are going through the biggest and most spectacular mountain range, Cordillera Septentrional.

In Santiago, the second largest city of the country, we make a stop at a monument of the Dominican heroes and from here you have a great view over the heart of the Dominican Republic.

We also make a stop at a ceramic factory where we will see how they make the Dominican doll.

One of the specialties of this country is a handmade cigar. We will visit the E. Leon Jimenez factory and there we will see the cigar-smoking artists in action and we will learn how to make them.

After this, is time to go shopping in the center of Santiago, Calle del Sol.

CATAMARAN

A day on the crystal clear Atlantic Ocean filled with sun and swimming!

Take the chance and go with the crew on the Freestyle catamaran!

They will show you the way to one of the most beautiful bays on the north coast.

Close to Puerto Plata are the catamarans waiting for us, we put the sails up and heading towards the beaches in Sosua.

Now you can enjoy the sailing and in Sosua we let the anchor down.

Here you have the possibility to try snorkeling and if this is your first time the crew will help you. Then you will have the chance to feed the fishes from you hands.

Lunch is served on board before we pull the anchor up again to head back home.

It is perfect for those who like to sail fast because the wind is normally very good.

JEEP SAFARI

A wonderful day in a excursion to the countryside to explore the real Dominican life.

We will visit waterfalls you only thought existed in the world of stories.

On roads with almost no traffic you will have the chance to enjoy the countryside atmosphere. Here you will find that people lives just as they did 50 years ago without influence from modernization and the rest of the world.

The way that people lives here all depend on the weather because most here are farmers.

During the day we will stop a couple of times to look at the beautiful view.

On the countryside life is different to the small cities at the north coast, here you will notice more poor families.

The local guide will talk about the Dominican life and then you will be able to see for yourself when you will be invited to a family.

An important way to travel here is the horse and you will also try horseback riding.

An adventure is to visit the waterfalls, which are incredibly beautiful.

There are seven waterfalls after each other and after each fall there is a natural pool. We will swim in some of these pools with sweet water coming from the rivers in the mountain.

To get up to some of these waterfalls you have to climb (not all).

Our transportation this day is pick-up cars with benches for aprox.8 people per car.

RAFTING
Experience a full day with action in beautiful surroundings.

Come along to river rafting in the Dominican Alps in Jarabacoa.

We will go by bus through a beautiful landscape until we reach the ranch in Jarabacoa, where we will enjoy our breakfast.

After that jeeps will take us the last way to the river.

All equipment is included like helmets, wetsuits, lifejackets and shoes.

After a short lesson it's time to hit the river!

We will go in small rubber boats 5-6 persons in each boat and everybody has to help to steer through small waterfalls, around rocks and more calm parts of the river.

A full day with action!
